Children's sleep problems

The baby sleeps - why don't I?

Probably we all know the feeling when we almost collapse from fatigue, but are still unable to fall asleep lying in bed. Many employ sleeping pills in such a situation, but this is a wrong solution, since sleep problems have natural solutions, too.

Frequent sleep problems mostly concern mums, since after the increased need for sleep during the pregnancy they find themselves in a situation when they do not live according to their own body's needs, but their days revolve around the baby. Although the body automatically tries to store, rest and prepare for the ordeals ahead during pregnancy, many suffer from serious problems for months after giving birth, which can even lead to depression. The main reason of disturbed sleep is that you are unable to step across the events of the day, your mind is continuously preoccupied with the things to do, or you may unnecessarily worry about what might happen. That is when you find yourself staring at the ceiling with eyes open wide, while the baby is fast asleep, and you tend to stress yourself with things like you will not get enough sleep, be more and more afraid of the moment you have to be awake and take care of the baby. Many people think that they have a serious problem and start to take sleeping pills, which in turn completely disrupt the balanced functions of the body and can lead to addiction. And this threat does not concern mums alone: all women are prone to have more sleep problems during such periods like the advent of menopause, the beginning of pregnancy, or weeks before giving birth. First of all Baba - mamathe reason for this is that they are much more sensitive to bodily changes than men, and our generation has countless unhealthy habits, which are unfortunately the results of our parents' decisions. According to medical science, sleep problems have no medical reason, but are rather mental problems that only can be solved by us.

No need for sleeping pills!

Unfortunately, it often happens that parents blame all unsuccessful things of a child on insufficient amount of sleep - this can cause stress later, especially when he or she is actually unable to rest well. However, the body has surprisingly great energy supplies, so if you do not panic because of tiredness, your body will be also able to bear the stress. Sometimes you simply must rest sufficiently and sleep enough at night. Mums often adjust to the needs of their baby, but this is not always good, since they need rest too: they do not always have to jump out of bed at the first cry of the baby, but they should pay attention to themselves as well. According to Freud, the main reason for sleep problems is that we can only rest if we have fulfilled all of our needs for the day. When this is not so, the body is unable to let it all hang out, so we do not even get to the deepest period of sleep, we only sleep in a forced, stressed and anxious way. Of course sleep is indispensable, but there are several natural ways to increase the quality of relaxation.

Of course, it is highly important to calm ourselves consciously, try to relax, listen to some music, take a hot bath, and take care of ourselves a little every day. If we still need external help, natural relaxing teas offer an option. Valerian, lavender and lemongrass can bring an extra peaceful dream, but warm milk and honey are also reliable traditional medicines. It may be also worth trying a pillow stuffed with herbs; this brought the solution for many people already. The main point is to take care of yourself, and then you will be calmer every day, even if the baby has been crying all night.
