Apple, the everyday miracle
What to expect from a kind of fruit that is so common in our everyday life? We cannot even assess what magical powers possesses one of the most widely known kind of fruit, apple.
The apple, this mythological and symbolic fruit has grown in our temperate zone, has enjoyed perpetual popularity since the beginning of time (apart from that fiasco in Paradise), and this is not only because of its delicious taste. As regards its origin, it comes from Anatolia, now in Turkey's inner, Asian territory and is a member of the family of roses. There are many kinds of apple from the sour kind to the real sweet version, from green apple to deep claret, from the early summer type to the autumn type and they are available to both cheap and higher prices. In this case too, what we said earlier about most kinds of fruit still applies - i.e., it is practical to eat the most possible fruit as frequently as possible, for they contain nutrients so valuable for the body in different constitutions and proportions.
Pectin, the chimney sweeper of intestines
Apple is rich in dietary fibers and is easily digestible, does not burden the bowel system and has an invigorating effect applied both internally and externally - no wonder it is the favourite fruit of many people. A most characteristic content of apple aside from vitamins, trace elements and mineral substances is a substance called pectin, which cleanses the intestinal tract. Due to its natural detoxifying effect, it enhances the function of the helpful bacteria in the bowel system and supports the detoxifying function of the liver.
An apple a day…
Apple, like fruit in general, contributes to the preservation of teeth when eaten raw. Because of its high fruit sugar content, it raises blood sugar, while its high water content quenches thirst effectively on the level of the cells.
Its anti-ageing, regenerating ingredients exercise their effect already if you eat one apple a day regularly. In the case of apples produced without any chemical control, ideally you should also eat the seeds and core too, while if you only have apple from an uncertain source, eating the seeds or even the skin is not advisable, since the chemicals that absorbed into the fruit during ripening are to be found in increased concentrations in these parts.
Apple during pregnancy
Another advantage if apple is that it cures pregnancy sickness effectively. Ground apple, because of its fast oxidization process (becoming brown), eases the symptoms of diarrhea and makes the recovery of children with fever quicker. Apple is also good to eat for both children and adults with wrong eating habits to stimulate bowel activity. Beyond that, the introduction of an apple day once a week can work wonders and bring incredible results in connection with preserving your health.
Baby's first fruit
It is exactly because of all this that apple appears as the first fruit in the diet of children, and in a ground form it usually meets the least resistance from the part of the baby. It remains the one fruit during the rest of feeding that retains its healthy character when mixed with vegetables (boiled mashed potatoes, for example). Its simplicity is enhanced by the fact that it can be prepared with any of the modern cooking techniques: you can have it raw, steamed, baked, frozen, made as tea or dried, even as apple chips since it keeps the bulk of its nutrient content even in dried and preserved form. However, what is true of the majority of fruits applies also for the apple: it has the best possible effect on your body when eaten raw or in the form of fibrous or filtered fruit juice.
